Introduction

SV Surveying Ltd was formed in Sheffield by Peter Vincent and Terry Smith in October 1988 and was originally named SV Land Surveying Ltd. It was formed to provide a complete Topographic Land Survey + Computer Modelling service to clients large and small.

The company moved to the midlands in 1992  and is now run by Steve Roberts operating from a central office in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire covering the whole of the U.K. and abroad.

We undertake Topographic Land Surveys for Local Authorities, Consulting Engineers, House builders, and Council Departments and have established a respect in the Industry for producing surveys of the highest quality.

Measured Building Surveys are another of our services, using hand-held computers and laser distance measurers to produce self-checking plans before we leave site, so reducing the chance of errors and speeding-up the office drawing work

The Investment Continues.

This month see's the addition of another member of staff. Paul Cerone has joined the company as a post graduate on 1st July and will initially be working in our land survey department on Topographic Land Surveys before continuing his training on MBS to carry out Measured Building Surveys.

In the last 2 years our client base has increased dramatically with turnover of the company almost doubling. The company now employs 6 survey staff and is looking to increase its staffing levels over the coming months.

We are now able to provide 5 topographic survey teams in total, 3 teams using traditional TCR and TPS Total Station Equipment plus 2 GPS teams using Leica 530 GPS systems. Our final surveyor works in the main on measured surveys using the MBS suite of software. 

Although our Land Surveyors do have specialist rolls in the company they have all trained on the various types of equipment and are able are to carry out either Topographic Surveys or Measured Building Surveys as required by our clients. 

As well as increasing our staffing levels we have increased our use of Land Survey Software (LSS) and Measured Building Survey (MBS) software we now employ 4 and 2 copies respectively, for use in the office and site.
